Some notes about choosing an inflatable air tent

How to choose the right inflatable air tent

he first step to go camping should be to choose an inflatable air tent. Taking into account the needs of family travel, inflatable air tent will have a different focus from choosing outdoor tents. Unlike outdoor campers, most families drive directly to the campsite, so the weight and volume of the tent itself will not be too demanding. Today I will talk to you about some of the reference elements for choosing a tent.

In terms of appearance, a inflatable air tent is best for adults to stand up in the tent. In this way, even if camping encounters bad weather, you can play in the tent. The more common shapes of family tents include: traditional cones, tunnel tents, and polygonal tents. The tunnel tents we see most in the camp.

The following is information about inflatable air tent that you often see when choosing an inflatable tent:

Tent capacity (Capacity): For a tent with only one room, the capacity here refers to the number of people that the tent can sleep without placing anything. When we travel with our children, of course, we bring a lot of clothing, toys, etc. Taking these factors into account, when buying a family tent, choose a tent that can accommodate more than the number of existing families based on the size of the family. For families with three people, tunnel tents with at least four people are recommended. For a family of four, we recommend a tunnel tent with at least 5 people, or a single-room tent with 6-8 people.

Support structure (Poles): Generally commonly used family tents have steel structure, glass fiber structure and inflatable column structure. The steel structure is more stable, but heavier. The fiberglass structure is generally lighter and has better toughness. Most of the small tunnel tents are made of fiberglass. Inflatable column tents are relatively more expensive, but they are more convenient to install.

Groundsheet: There are separate groundsheets or integrated with tents. When choosing a tent, it is recommended to be completely integrated with the tent. On the one hand, it is better to prevent moisture and rain, and on the other hand, it also prevents insects from crawling into the tent from the gap between the ground moisture-proof cloth and the tent.

Tent material (Fabric): Common tents are mainly polyester fiber. On the one hand, the price is cheap, and the water resistance is better than that of cotton. Nylon nylon is generally used in outdoor professional tents because of its lighter weight. Some also add waterproof and sun-proof coatings to the fabric.

Waterproof index (Hydrostatic Head or water column): The waterproof index is for the tent material, which means how high a column of water is placed on the material will start to leak. The larger the index, the better the waterproofness of the material. Of course, the waterproofness of the tent is not the same as the waterproofness of the material. Also pay attention to the position of the seams and zippers of the tent stitching interface, whether they are covered or not, to ensure that the seal is intact.
